I really miss the person that I was 10 years ago.  I hope to get her back, or at least meet her again.

I was awarded credentials to see Barack Obama's acceptance speech at Invesco Field.  I am so freaking excited!

Weekends, birthday, etc.

I have no idea why I'm so bad about posting here.  I check LJ several times a day, but I never post.  Going to get better about that.

Anyway, a few pretty exciting things have happened lately.  The weekend before last we went up to Livermore for the GFS Folkmoot.  I had an awesome time.  It was exactly what I needed.  The weather was gorgeous and everything was so green.  I don't know if it's just the time of the year or if it's always green up there.  Maybe they just get more rain than us.

My friend [info]saxon_pagan was able to make it into town for the gathering, and it was great to see him again.  He completely cracks me up.  [info]aeschere77 brewed lots of yummy beer for the trip and Osric cooked for us again.  We stayed up way too late, roasted marshmallows, played games, and relaxed.  On Saturday night, we had our midsummer ritual and [info]e_falki gave his gesíð oath.  We offered up thanks for the year and prayers for our friends in the midwest (crazy weather) and raised a horn to the GFS members in Australia who were celebrating Yule.  Everyone seemed to have a really good time (especially the kids).  It was exactly what I needed.  I can't wait for next year.

When we got back, we celebrated my birthday with a few friends.  It was pretty low key but I had a really good time.

Last weekend,  I went up to the Scandinavian midsummer festival in Estes.  It was lame to be honest, but I had a good time hanging out with my Grams and Gramps.  Grams was critiquing their lefse, which was pretty funny.  Her lefse is way better.  Then we ate chili rellenos at a mexican place on the main drag, bought some candy, and headed home.

On Monday, Osric started his new job at Jeppesen.  Seems to be pretty sweet.  He has to go into the office for a couple of weeks, but then he gets to work from home.  I hope he likes it.

Now, I'm screwing around at work playing with my ETSY shop.  I really need to sell some wool to make room for the fleeces I'm going to clean this weekend.

Birthday stuff

So, tomorrow is my birthday and all. I probably should have posted this sooner, but we're planning a little get together tomorrow night.  Here's the scoop:

Going to start at the Front Porch (15th & Lawrence) at about 4:30.  They have really sweet drink specials and they are super nice to me.  Then we will be moving over to Double Daughters (16th & Market) at about 6:00 or so.  [info]djsin is spinning and they have Two Fisted Mario's pizza.  Yum!

If you can make it down for a drink, I'd love to see you.

Damnit!

I got sucked into WoW.  There goes my social life (like I had one to begin with).

Days like these after 3 day weekends are double Mondays.  Double the mail, voicemail, email, and fires of a typical  Monday all rolled into a crazy ass Tuesday.  At least there's only 3 more days.

The weekend was really good through.  Busy but good.  Sayge turned 13 yesterday, so Friday and Saturday were filled with birthday festivities.  On Friday, I took her shopping.  We wandered around the mall for a while and she decided she really just wanted books.  She rocks like that.  On Saturday, we took her to a movie and dinner. We saw Prince Caspian.  I thought they did a really good job with it, but I think I need to re-read the book.  It's been a long damn time.

CDAF
was Sunday.  I got there way later than I wanted, but I still got to see God Module.  Ran into a bunch of old friends, which was very cool.  I really miss a lot of the people I used to hang out with.  The show ended up getting a bit delayed, which kind of sucked because Jasyn from God Module was going to sing "I Ran" with Rob, but he had to leave.  They pour really strong drinks at The Church ;-)

There were so many people there it was fucking unreal.  The line for the back bar stretched all the way to the bathrooms.  It's a good thing I had friends to buy me drinks or I would probably still be in that line, LOL.

The New Waveforms
were fantastic, as always.  I had fun hanging out with Starla and the guys.   I'm really excited to see them play again.  I guess there might be something going on in July. *crosses fingers*

Like I said earlier, DB's set ended up delayed, which was frustrating.  It ended up working out though.  The crowd was pretty good sized even before they went on, but it about tripled halfway through the set.  Tons of people I didn't know were dancing and a girl I'd never seen before in my life was singing along.  She knew every word!

DB played a great set.  They have really good energy on stage.  Rob and Corey really feed off of each other.  Having Pat and Sarah on the keys adds a whole new dimension to the live show.  Pat gets to be a lot more creative with what he plays live, and they can both sing.

We followed up the show with the most bizarre breakfast ever (our cracked out waitress quit before we recieved our food.  It was special). The only real downer of the evening was Corey's window getting broken out.  Some people suck.

On Sunday, we helped Sarah move a bit.  Her new place is really cool.  Then I fucked with the website a bit and spun some yarn.

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend.  Now I think I shall go play some Sims.
